Several years ago, one of my friends travelled to a developing area. It is summer, so during lunch, the waiter put a piece of ice into his drink. In the afternoon, he was sick and couldn’t stand any more. Apparently, the ice was made of contaminated water.

He was not treated well in an area that he was not familiar with. He came back home several days later with the help of some friends, extremely weak. The ice becomes his nightmare thereafter.

In fact, many of us have concerns of drinking water quality when we are going to remote areas or developing countries, traveling in RV (Recreational Vehicles) or boat. Many people have ever suffered a lot from the water contaminated by waterborne germs, which made them sick with diarrhea, vomiting, or stomach pain, while treating these symptoms are difficult when they are away from home.

Therefore, water disinfection becomes very important.

Our first product is UV-LED water sterilizer. The trademark was ErgoPur in the beginning, changed to VerterPure afterwards.

Customers’ voice is always the focus of our product design. We therefore set up design principles for the products: Effective, Efficient, Easy, Economic, Eco-Friendly.

We took good use of some advanced tools to identify and mitigate any potential risks associated with the products. In the past several months, our lab was busy everyday in testing and evaluating. We hope the product can be safe to use, easy to operate, minimum maintenance, and reliable.

We reviewed with manufacturers too to make sure the design is production feasible, and can be done efficiently. Beautiful things always make you happy, bring you additional benefits.

Though the devices are to be placed under sink, we evaluated the appearance very carefully. We reviewed various materials and colors, made a lot of prototype samples. We hope when you take the device out of box, when you see it, touch it, you will have a feeling that beyond your expectations.

UVC photons are incredible germ-killers. They work by inactivating the reproduction process of microorganisms. UVC-LED technology is becoming the new weapon in the battle against germs and viruses.

VerterPure VP6 uses patented UVC-LED technology, can inactivate up to 99.9999%* waterborne germs at flow rate 6.0 liters/minute (1.58GPM).

The UVC-LED has a long life-time of 8,000 hours. It is activated on-demand, controlled by a water flow switch. This design not only minimizes the power consumption, but also expands its life-time.

Thanks to UV LED technology, VerterPure water purifiers are compact in size.

It can be placed in a very small room under sink.

The materials we use are RoHS compliance, lead free. There are no worries about heavy metals in the water.

Comparing with many UV sterilizers that use UV lamps, VerterPure has many important advantages:

 - VerterPure water purifiers don’t need professional assembly, so you don’t need to worry about water leak, breaking the UV bulbs or other components.

 - The UV LED is built inside the UV reactor, controlled by a water flow sensor. It is active only when there is water flow. This design eliminates direct exposure of skin and eye to UV radiation.

 - Ozone free. Ozone inhalation can be irritating to the airway. UV lamp emits UV radiations at 253.7 and 185.0 nm, the latter one is “ozone-generating” wavelength. UV LEDs emit a very narrow wavelength band of radiation, with peak wavelengths at 265 nm, meaning it is ozone free.

 - Mercury free. Mercury is toxic even in small amounts, so extreme caution is needed in cleaning a UV lamp that has broken and in disposing of the lamp. UV LED doesn’t contain mercury at all.

Product reliability is of the most importance to users. We set up very high standards for reliability evaluations, including:

Aging Test

This test was done by independent labs. The method is to have the UV reactor operate for 2,000 hours, then evaluate its germicidal effectiveness. Tests show that it is still able to inactivate more than 99.999% bacteria.

Water Surge Test

This test was done by independent labs. The method is to increase water pressure from 0 psi to 90 psi in 3 seconds, which is called one cycle. Total 100,000 cycles completed without any water leak or broken parts.

Water Flow Cycling Test

Considering you will turn on/off the faucet frequently everyday, we designed and built test machines that turns the faucet on/off (i.e., one cycle) in certain frequency. The products switch between active and standby accordingly. The standard is 100,000 cycles without any failure.

Features

1. UVC-LED Technology

2. Compact, Sleek, Durable

The body casing is a mixture of ABS covers and Aluminum frame. This structure makes it sleek and sturdy.

3. User Friendly

4. Easy Installation and Operation

VerterPure is designed with minimum installation requirements. You just need to connect it with your water lines. Then plug in a 12V DC power, turn on the faucet, it will start to work simultaneously. Very easy to install and operate.

The water inlet and outlet use 3/8 inch food grade 304 stainless steel. It is versatile to connect with your water lines by either 3/8” NPT fittings or push-to-connect (3/8” OD) adaptors.

5. Minimum Maintenance Requirements

VerterPure is designed with minimum maintenance requirement during its life-time. There is no need to replace UV bulbs periodically.

Assume you use it 3 hours everyday, you don’t need to take care of it in the following approximately 8 years. The only thing you need to do is checking the indicator light and the timer occasionally. Consequently, the cost of ownership is very low.

VerterPure is equipped with an indicator and a timer. When it is in operation, the blue indicator light will be ON, telling you that the UV reactor is active and working hardly.

Since the UVC-LED’s life-time is 8,000 hours, then how do you know if it is still within the life-time? This is what the timer will do. It will record and display real-time, accumulated operating hours.

6. Feedback from the device

7. Functional Reliability

8. Sustainability

When we designed VerterPure, we tried best to evaluate feasible technology in order to reduce waste and contribute to save the environment.

All the materials are of premium quality, designed and manufactured for long-lasting durability.

VerterPure VP6 is mercury free, meaning it is environmentally friendly, in compliance of The Minamata Convention on Mercury*.

* The Minamata Convention on Mercury is an international treaty designed to protect human health and the environment from anthropogenic emissions and releases of mercury and mercury compounds.

And you don’t have to worry about managing them in accordance with disposal laws (ref. LampRecycle.org).

VerterPure VP6 is designed to be low energy consumption. You don’t have to turn it on all the time. When it is active, its power consumption is approximately 8 watts. When it is standby, the power consumption is close to 0 watts.

In its life-time, it can treat maximumly 2.88 millions liters (847,058 gallons) water, meaning it can save approximately 5.76 millions single-use water bottles. So by using VerterPure VP6, you can contribute a lot to the reduction of plastic pollutions.
